Open-ended interests fragment into a thousand near-duplicates and match nobody. Rally ships a fixed catalog of 76 activities, so “padel” means padel — and everyone who picked it is reachable.

The gap
Every app has solved the introduction. None of them has solved the meeting.
The gap between “matched” and “met” is where the entire category leaks. It leaks because a match is a blank page — two strangers now owe each other a conversation, a suggestion, a time, and a place, and any one of those failing kills it.
Rally removes the blank page. The activity supplies the reason to meet, the venue, and the opening line, all before the first message.

Declare what you want to do
Padel, a hike, a cocktail bar, a pottery class. Not a decorative interest tag — your skill level, how soon you want to go, and the parts of the week you are actually free.

Browse only people who want the same thing
Inside your age, gender and distance filters, and inside theirs. The card leads with the activity and what they said about it, so there is something to react to before a single message.

Rally
A match is not the beginning of a negotiation about what to do — it is confirmation that you already agree. Propose a time and a venue in the app, and both of you get a plan rather than a thread.

What we measure
A completed date is the metric.
Swipe apps report matches and messages because those are the only outcomes they can see — and a completed date is a session that did not happen. Rally records whether two people actually met, which makes the product accountable to the thing it claims to do.

- Both confirmed they turned up. This is the only number that means the product worked.
Showing up is also the only thing that builds standing on Rally. Reliability comes from completed plans, it is never shown as a raw score, and it cannot be edited from the phone.
Safety & privacy
Built into the database, not the copy.
Meeting a stranger is the whole point of Rally, so the guarantees around it are enforced where a client cannot reach them.
Your exact location never leaves the server
Coordinates are not readable by any client, including someone you have matched with. Distance is rounded server-side before it is sent, which is what defeats the trilateration attack that has been demonstrated against several major dating apps.
Blocking closes every route back
One action, one transaction: the conversation ends, any live plan is cancelled so nobody is left waiting at a venue, pending requests in both directions are withdrawn, and neither of you appears to the other again.
Reports reach a person
A report goes to a moderation queue with the context attached, and blocking someone is offered in the same step. Reporting never requires you to keep the thread open.
Deleting means deleting
Your account, your photos and everything attached to them are removed — not deactivated, not retained against a future return.
